First part commences fresh Breezes and hazy weather, at 3 PM came up and captured the British Schooner Thomas, Gilpatrick master from St. John’s bound to Halifax Cargo Fish. It blowing fresh and we having no place for prisoners let her go.Middle part moderate & cloudy.
Latter part fresh Breezes and hazy. At 6 AM saw a ship on our weather bow, which immediately gave chase. We crowded all sail to the Eastward & she in chase of us at 12 noon, dropping her a little.
