October 20th – This day being appointed for public Thanksgiving, was observ’d with great Solemnity – Went to Town & accompanied my company to Church, call’d on Gen Scott and din’d at Mrs. Wests – Doct. Falls came out last evening and staid all Night –

13th ct. – Weather continues very fine – Went to Town, return’d Home to dinner – Sow’d Timothy on Potatoe Ground – Miss Meroney came to dinner & return’d to Town in the evening – Doct. Fitzhugh went Home on a Furlough of ten days, after being with us nearly every other Night since the 29th July –
