15th – Cold Rainy day., Wind N.W. – Went with all hands to the Meadows to head down a Thorn Hedge, which was accomplish’d altho the day was very unfavorable – Haul’d 2 Loads of Rails ~ S. Hughes call’d & drank tea

24 – Weather rather more pleasant but still cold – Wind N.W. Went to Town return’d to Dinner – Planted Hedge in front of the House of Thorns procur’d last Spring, also planted Potatoes in young Orchards –

18th – Very fine day, and the first which has any appearance of Spring, being the most backward Season I recollect & nothing like vegetation as yet – Went to Town return’d to Dinner. Mrs. Peters, Beckey & Anne came in the evening and drank tea – Finish’d a trench for Planting Thorn Hedge in front of the House
