22nd Dec. Very fine day & more mild – Did not go to Town, but remain’d at Home to Salt my Hogs, which was handsomely done before Sunsett – [Mar?] new season Timothy in meadow near the Garden

21st – Very fine day, went to Town, returned to Dinner, Kill’d 19 Hogs, wthe whole weight 2903 lbs. Mrs. Nicols, S. Hudson, & Sally Merryman call’d in the eveing

20th – Hard Frost & very cold with fresh N.W. Wind. Went to Town, return’d to dinner – Prepar’d for killing Hogs tomorrow. Sent to Town for a Horse, purchased in Richmmond by Mr. B. J. Harris, he is a handsome Roane but unfortunately Lame.

5th – Fine day, went to Town and return’d to Dinner, sold 40 Hogs to Jacob Madinger ~

2 – Very fine mild day – Chas Ridgly & Geo. Howard came out to breakfast & purchas’d some of my Hogs. They also came to Dinner as did Mr. Nicols, Mr. & Mrs. & Fanny Bowly. Afterwards Mrs Hollins, S. Hollins & Sally Stewart call’d & staid only a few minutes – Mrs. Isaac McKim call’d in the morng.
