October 12th
First part light breezes and moderate, nothing in sight. Watch Employed in putting thing to right.Middle part light airs and pleasant weather.
Latter part same. At 7 AM saw a ship standing to the Eastward. All the watch Employed in repairing the Mainsail. At 10 AM saw a ship to windward.
