5th – Sunday – Fine day, very warm, Wind S.W. Had the following to Dinner, Mr. Mrs. & Sam Bowly, Mr. & Mrs. Chas & Peter Wirgman, D. A. Smith & H. Moore, Mr. & Mrs. Hollins & Sarah. After dinner the following call’d, staid Tea & Strawberries & Cream, Mr. & Mrs. Nicols, Col. Nicols, Mr. Holliday, St. Sterett, Augusta & Mary, Eliza Peters, Geo. & James Brown. We had pick’d out of the Garden this day about 30 Quarts of Strawberries and all our Friends had as many as they could possibly Eat, both at Dinner & Tea

11th – Rain’d all Night with very high Wind at S.E. and the highest Tide in Town, I ever remember ~ Went to Town, return’d to Dinner and had the following company ~ Jn. Allen, Powell, Sheppard, Koning, Robt & Jo. Patterson, S. Sterett, OBrien, Wichelhausen, L. Goodwin, J. Hollingsworth, C & P. Wirgman

8 May Sunday – Fine cool day Wind N.W. Rode over to the Meadows. Mr. Oliver paid me a visit. Mrs. T & Miss Merony walk’d to Church and din’d at P. Wirgmans. S. Sterett and his son George, also Wm. Courtenay din’d with me, afterwards Mr. Allen, Koning & Jo. Sterett call’d and sat an Hour. Sent to Town for a Gray Horse purchas’d for me by Mr. Allen ~

2nd Mar – Rather more mild today, and the Wind Lo, but chang’d in the evening to N.W. and blew very fresh ~ Had the following Gentmn. to Dine with Col Fitzhugh – Col Hall, Mr. Nicols, S & Jo. & Jas. Sterett, Alex. Brown, C. & P. Wirgman, Genl. Ridgely, in the evg. Dan Fitzhugh came out and staid all night with his Father
